The Word

For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11 AMP

How reassuring it is to know that when God's Word goes forth, it does not return void. But rather, it prospers in the thing for which He sent it. What or who is the Word and what or who is 'the thing for which He sent it'?  The Word in this context is Christ.

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. John 1:1-3 AMP

Jesus, is the Word. Jesus is who God sent to accomplish what He purposed. Jesus reminds us of that in John 8:42

Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love Me and respect Me and welcome Me gladly, for I proceeded (came forth) from God [out of His very presence]. I did not even come on My own authority or of My own accord (as self-appointed); but He sent Me.

God sent Jesus here for those who had strayed from His ways. Us, the sinners. You and Me.

And when Jesus heard it, He said to them, Those who are strong and well have not need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick; I came not to call the righteous ones to repentance, but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin). Mark 2:17 AMP

You and me, we are the 'things' that He wants Jesus to prosper in. Jesus tells us this in John 10:10 AMP

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Jesus has the power to give us a life of abundance. Abundance in every aspect of our lives, spiritually, physically, relationship-wise, financially and the list goes on. He is Life and Light.

In Him was Life, and Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out of absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it]. John 1:4-5 AMP

Question for today, have you made a decision to accept Jesus, who was sent by God for you, so that you can prosper as He wants you to do? If not, click on this link to take the step of asking Jesus to be your Saviour - Deciding to follow Jesus

If Jesus is your Saviour, I pray that the scriptures I have shared today, will remind you that Jesus wants you to live in abundance. Seek Him first.

The humble shall see it and be glad; you who seek God, inquiring for and requiring Him [as your first need], let your hearts revive and live! Psalm 69:32 AMP
