Jesus spoke about many things when He was here on earth 2000 years ago. Let's have a look at a couple of the things Jesus said about enemies ...
"To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person." Luke 6:27-28 The Message
"I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You'll never - I promise - regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we're at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind." Luke 6:35-36 The Message
Today, let's take time to meditate on these scriptures. Maybe you do not have an overt enemy in your life right now, and if that is the case, ask God to show you if there are any 'less than loving attitudes about other people' in your heart, and ask Him to help you to forgive and love them, just as He loves us.
Imagine what our society would be like if we did exactly as Jesus tells us to do ...
Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives towards us, generously and graciously, even when we're at our worst. Luke 6:35
